Capacity Building Initiatives

A weekly meeting in Rumjatar, Okhaldhunga in progress

Despite the current security problems in the areas, the Chairperson-Managers Conferences were continued in possible places rather than organising formal gathering, rallies and meetings. Some major training activities held during the third quarter and other capacity building events are given in Table 1.

Capacity 21 seeks to ensure that developing countries and countries in transition find the best ways to achieve sustainable development and meet the goals of Agenda 21. In partnership with governments, civil society and the private sector, Capacity 21 strengthens the capacities of key development actors to integrate economic, social and environmental concerns into national development planning.
